Welcome to Amie Weld Animal Physiotherapy
Amie is passionate about the role of physiotherapy and rehabilitation to enable animals to live their lives to the full. Your animal is part of the family and it is important to you and to them that they can move and play and work without pain. As more animals are diagnosed with and undergo veterinary treatment for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, it is vital to ensure any associated musculoskeletal pain, weakness or dysfunction is also addressed.
In 2009, Amie obtained a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Teesside University. She worked in the National Health Service for two years in a wide range of areas including musculoskeletal, neurological and respiratory physiotherapy. She then specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy while studying veterinary physiotherapy and finished her MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2014. She was lucky enough to work with elite equine athletes and British team physiotherapists in the UK before moving back to Ireland.
Since 2017 Amie has been based in Ireland and getting to know new clients and their pets in the Leinster area. Amie provides yard assessments for horses. Her canine physiotherapy clinic is based at Top Dogs Canine Centre in Lucan and she also provides a clinic service at Cottage Vets in Newbridge and home visits if necessary.
